Abstract
Chemical data on an ice core obtained at site S25 (S25 core), near the coastal region on the Mizuho Plateau, East Antarctica, have been analyzed. Post-depositional migration of Mg2+ seemed to be detected below about 15m. There was found to be a high correlation between the Mg2+ and Na+ concentrations at shallow depths, whereas there was a weaker correlation at greater depths.
